Our Story
A Historical Journey of Grace Bible Faith Community Church of Liberia
Grace Bible Faith Community Church of Liberia (GBFCCL), Inc., formerly known as Grace Bible Faith Church of Liberia (GBFCL), has a history rooted in faith, perseverance, prayer, reconciliation, service, and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The church emerged from a period of spiritual and organizational challenges within the Bible Faith Christian Church of Liberia in 1986. Following the suspension of Senior Pastor Daniel Y. Davis and unsuccessful efforts toward reconciliation, a growing number of believers sought a ministry founded on biblical principles, spiritual accountability, unity, freedom of worship, evangelism, discipleship, and community service.
On Sunday, April 26, 1987, elders, deacons, evangelists, ministry workers, musicians, and other believers gathered at the residence of Pastor Daniel Y. Davis for prayer, encouragement, worship, and spiritual reflection. Among those present was Solomon B. Reeves, who was actively involved in music and evangelistic ministry.
That prayer gathering became a defining moment in the history of the ministry. From it emerged Grace Bible Faith Church of Liberia, which was subsequently registered and certified by the Government of Liberia on October 28, 1987.
Building a Ministry of Faith and Service
From its early years, the church developed through worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, evangelistic campaigns, youth fellowships, discipleship, and community outreach. Despite limited resources, its members demonstrated dedication and sacrifice, helping the ministry grow and extend its influence beyond the congregation.
Over the years, GBFCCL expanded its ministry to include evangelism, pastoral care, youth mentorship, family support, peacebuilding, education, humanitarian assistance, and community development.
In 2018, the church adopted the name Grace Bible Faith Community Church of Liberia (GBFCCL), Inc., reflecting its broader vision of serving both the spiritual and social needs of communities.
A New Chapter — 2026 Partnership-Merger
After 39 years of ministry and service, GBFCCL entered a new chapter in 2026 through a strategic partnership and merger with Christ Healing Ministry International (CHMI).
Through prayer, dialogue, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to Christian ministry, the two ministries formally materialized their partnership-merger on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
The relationship brought together the ministry experience, leadership, resources, vision, and commitment of both organizations to strengthen their service to God and His people.
The partnership-merger took place under the leadership of Missionary Amos Anointed Dahn, Jr., Senior Pastor and Regional Leader, together with the leadership of GBFCCL.
The Journey Continues
Today, Grace Bible Faith Community Church of Liberia continues to build upon the foundation established by previous generations while embracing new opportunities to serve, evangelize, disciple, develop communities, and multiply the impact of the Gospel.
Our continuing mission is:
“Love God, Love People, Glorify God through Faith and Actions, and Multiply.”
From a prayer gathering in 1987 to a community-centered ministry serving a new generation, the story continues by God's grace.
This is our story.
This is our heritage.
This is our mission.
And the journey continues.
